I loved Holly Hobbie when I was five years old. I had an assortment of clothing, toys, dolls and collectibles that my mom and other family members gave me. I came across this vintage Simplicity pattern circa 1973 for a Holly Hobbie inspired prairie dress.
My mom had made me an outfit from this exact pattern and here is a picture of me to prove it.
My daughter doesn’t know who Holly Hobbie is, but she loves Mary Ingalls from the Little House series of books. So this is the version I made for her fifth birthday from the same vintage pattern.

I have some great pictures of you and me in our halloween costumes that mom made for us. I think you were a kitty and I was a bunny. I am going to look for that Polaroid of us and scan it in. You are crazy cute in it. You were the cat’s meow!
