I can’t believe how big my girls are getting. It seems like only yesterday that my sweet four year old Mira was a wee little baby wearing the cutest little clothes. I saved most of the pieces that reminded me of special times. I whipped together Mira’s quilt in a couple of days. A real quilter would be very critical of my skills, but Mira loves it. So that is all that matters. Willow’s quilt is still a work in progress.

Great site, Sadie! I am so jealous that you not only have the time to create these beautiful pieces, but also the time to write about them.
I love the quilt idea. I have been saving my kids’ logo tees (so far, from nursery school, summer camp, soccer class, etc) and hope one day to make them each a quilt to bring to college. (If that’s not too embarrassing for them… if so, I’ll just keep for our own empty-nest shrine).
Keep up the great work!
Much love.

Beautiful! I made the same quilts for my own two daughters for their birthdays in March of 2009 — great minds think alike.
I saved baby clothes and embroidered dishtowels from the great grandmothers then edged them with their favorite colors. Pink for my sweet little “C” who loves all things pink and lavender for “E” who loves all things purple!
I’m with you on the imperfect quilting – mine are far from perfect but the girls still sleep under them every night (and love them!) and that’s all that matters! : )
Here’s a link to mine: http://pinkandgreenmama.blogspot.com/2009/03/birthday-quilts.html
